Upasana Kamineni Konidela Applauds Suma Kanakala’s Commendable Service Through ‘Festivals for Joy’
Fifth anniversary celebrations of the ‘Festivals For Joy’ held with great fanfare
The fifth anniversary celebrations of the ‘Festivals For Joy’, hosted by renowned anchor Suma Kanakala, were grand. Since its inception, the program has organised many service programs to fill everyone’s lives with joy. Vice Chairperson CSR Apollo Hospitals Upasana Kamineni Konidela and Padma Shri awardee Sunitha Krishna were present as the chief guests for the celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, Upasana Kamineni Konidela said, “I am very inspired when I see Suma garu. Her self-confidence, perseverance and achievements are truly commendable. She is a role model for many. I thank Suma garu for starting the ‘Festivals For Joy’ and taking forward such a great program. Such programs benefit many people in the society. Everyone in the society should move forward together.
Sunitha Krishna said.. “Suma garu and Upasana garu are very close to me. Upasana garu constantly helps many people, especially in the field of children’s health. She has a great heart to come forward and help if anyone needs anything. Suma garu, who has anchored our programs many times, has not taken a single rupee as remuneration so far. She has a sense of gratitude and a service attitude to give to others. My heartfelt thanks to Suma garu for organising such a wonderful program through ‘Festivals For Joy’.
Suma Kanakala said.. “A hearty welcome to our donors, beneficiaries and everyone who is contributing to this program. Life is like a school. We keep learning something every day. Sunitha Krishna garu is a great person who has come forward with the desire to do something for society. When I see her, my courage increases. I am very happy that she is coming to our program. Upasana Kamineni Konidela garu’s birthplace is Mettinillu; she could have lived comfortably if she wanted. But she doesn’t think like that. She moves forward with the thought of how many people she can help with the resources she has. The services she is doing give us great inspiration. She is serving society a hundred times more than what we have done in the past five years. Since childhood, I have had the idea of earning well and helping those in need. I got celebrity status due to the love and support of the people. ‘Festivals For Joy’ was born from the idea of transforming the trust that people have placed in me into something useful for society. People are listening to what we say and trusting us. We started this program with the intention of using that trust for good deeds. In this five-year journey, many donors have become partners in our program. In this opportunity given by God, I am only acting as a bridge and an anchor between the donors and the beneficiaries. We can help some people with the resources we have. To help more people, many more hands need to join hands. I bow my head and bow to everyone who has supported me on this journey. Is the help given by the donors reaching the right people? Is it being used in the right way? It is also very important. It is our responsibility to maintain the trust that the donors have placed in us. We need the cooperation of all of you in the coming days. Every festival should light up not only our homes but also the homes of others. This is the main objective of the ‘Festival of Joy’. Thank you to all the heroes, donors, well-wishers and everyone who has been a part of this journey.”
Actor Rajeev Kanakala said, “This program started with a great intention. Suma not only grows herself, but also stands by those around her. She helps others and encourages them. I wish Suma would organise more such service programs and help more people. Many celebrities participated in this program.
